Burst Scores Integration Contract at Matthew Knight Arena

10/26/10

Denver, CO - October 26, 2010 - Burst, a Denver-based systems integrator, was recently awarded the contract for the integration of the video production system at the Matthew Knight Arena at the University of Oregon in Eugene. The arena will be home to the Oregon Ducks basketball and volleyball teams and will host numerous other sports, events and concerts.

The $200 million arena is currently under construction with a completion date coinciding with the Pac-10 Conference basketball season in January 2011. The 12,541-seat multi-purpose arena is on target for LEED Gold certification, which will make it among the first LEED-certified sports facilities in the nation. It will also boast one of the largest scoreboards ever installed at a college sports facility: 3-stories tall, 36-feet wide, and more than 60,000 pounds.

Burst is working with Anthony James Partners (AJP) and Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams, Inc. (WJHW) to detail the engineering design and to build the HD control room to feed the scoreboard. This project is on a fast track to be ready for its first event. Other parties involved in the arena project are Ellerbe Becket, TVA Architects, Hoffman Construction, JMI Sports and IMG College.

Key components include, Hitachi Cameras, Ross Production Switcher, Grass Valley K2-Dyno Slow-Mo, Chyron Character Generation, Miranda Multi-Viewer and Snell & Wilcox Routing Switcher.
